Timecard
Timecard is an experimental pop project led by Amherst musician Matt Medeiros.
He first began using the name in 2005 while playing in Washington DC-and has
reactivated the project after his relocation to the Valley and 3 years of
graduate school. Although the project is "solo" in the sense that it consists of
one person, the songs eschew the singer-songwriter vibe for an aesthetic that is
exploratory in terms of genre, sound production, and style, while concentrating
on lyrical concepts for each album.
Influences include Gorillaz, Of Montreal, Why, Beck, Radiohead, Joy
Division, and Serge Gainsbourg.
Vacation
In 2010,
Timecard released Vacation, a concept album of compelling pop songs and instrumentals
on the topic of vacation. The album is available for download on
Itunes,
Emusic, Rhapsody,
and
Amazon. Physical copies can be obtained by contacting the band directly
Other Projects
An upcoming project focuses on the concept of twisting the love song into a new form.
The band has also created an instrumental album ("An Epic Walk Through A Field
of Broccoli"), and the newly released instrumental EP "Water" for
the project by multimedia artist Burns Maxey, "Project Elements Easthampton."
