Timecard
Timecard is an experimental pop project led by Easthampton musicians Matt Medeiros and Burns Maxey.
Medeiros first began using the name in 2005 while playing in Washington DC-and has reactivated
the project after some time off and a relocation to the Valley. The songs are exploratory in
terms of genre, sound production, and style, while concentrating on lyrical concepts for each
album. While performing live Medeiros and Maxey create a unique experience through the use of
visual props and a variety of classical instruments such as toy piano, melodica, stylophone,
tambourine, ukulele, and balalaika.
Influences include Beck, Radiohead, Gorillaz, The Cure, Why, Joy
Division, and Serge Gainsbourg.
Vacation
In 2010,
Timecard released Vacation, a concept album of compelling pop songs and instrumentals
on the topic of vacation. The album is available for download on
Itunes,
Emusic, Rhapsody,
and
Amazon. Physical copies can be obtained by contacting the band directly
Other Projects
The band is currently in the thick of an album project that focuses on the concept of twisting the love song into a new form.
The band has also created an instrumental album ("An Epic Walk Through A Field
of Broccoli"), and an instrumental EP "Water" for
Maxey's multimedia art show, "Project Elements Easthampton."
